About Pete Daize
Welcome to my website. My name is Pete Daize and although I am a multimedia artist, I am first and foremost, a photographic artist. Creating art is something I pursue with a passion because there is something both fulfilling and spiritual about this endeavor. Occasionally I integrate sketches, drawings and woodcarvings into my photographic repertoire by modifying them even further with Photo Shop and other photo editing programs. And of course, my imagination plays an important part in my artistic endeavours. I find that by looking at my art through the eyes of a child is analogous to Alice peering through the looking glass with awe and curiosity. It gives me an invaluable perspective on the creative process and in so doing, I have made many serendipitous discoveries. It goes without saying that art in its many forms gives the viewer an introspective into the artist's mindset. A symbiotic relationship results when both the viewer/patron and artist can identify with the subject matter.
I hope you will find my work unique and stimulating to the senses since I take great pride and meticulous care in creating it. It is my fervent hope that my verve and enthusiasm comes through to my viewers and patrons. Art, like a fine wine or gourmet meal, requires time and skill to perfect - neither can be rushed or the message and emotions are compromised. Life would be indeed drab without art - it is both therapeutic and nourishing to the soul! For me, art is a labour of love.
We are on the cusp of a new art renaissance and digital photography is leading the way. That is why I have embraced this new genre of artwork - because I find it refreshing, challenging and stimulating because it is tearing down the old myopic preconceptions of art. I invite you to look at my body of work with an open mind - leave all of your preconceived stereotyped notions of photography behind!
If you like what you see, why not tell you friends so that they can drop by; the door is always open. I shall endeavor to update my site regularly, so be sure to drop in frequently. And while you are here, why not leave a comment so that I may know how my work resonates with you, the viewer. I hope you leave with good vibes.
I am currently a member of the North Perth Arts and Culture Council (NPACC) in Listowel.

Works can be licensed for broadcasting or printing for a negotiated fee - some are suitable for book and DVD covers. For more information, please contact me by E-mail.
Some of my artwork have borders, this is to enhance the images which may appear drab when displayed against a plain white background, which doesn't do the artwork justice - these are ideally suitable for Giclees on canvas. If you do not want a border you can request Fine Art America to crop the images that have them.
Guidelines: The default frame FAA uses to frame all artwork doesn't do any of my work any justice. Try looking at each composition with a different frame by clicking on the frame tab. Also try viewing each piece using two different coloured mattes as well by clicking on the matte tab. Although I receive no commission for these suggestions, the work and the proper frame compliment each other. Without a suitable frame, the work looks like crap. It is like a bridegroom who goes to his wedding in tea shirt and jeans.
Please note that the Fine Art America text superimposed on most of the images on my site does not appear on any artwork that is purchased - this is a security feature.
